Qld had a very strong July, with the exception of some isolated markets. The market was up by 20.9% on July last year. SEQ dominated the growth. We recall that July 2021 was hit by masks, lockdowns in SEQ and Townsville and the return of border closures. July 2022 was well up on last month, June 2022, with the traditional boost from tax returns. Under normal conditions, you would expect July to be up on June by 10%-15%. But this year it was 19.2%. July benefited from five weekends, compared with June which only had four full weekends. Early indications are that August continues to deliver sound results.
