Qld EGM Gaming Analysis July 2023
Qld gaming data for July was released this morning and the results won’t surprise many who enjoyed a strong month.
The softening of the market from July last year seems to have been reversed with strong growth in July 2023.
July revenues were 15.1% up on June 2023, following typical July trends each year. Since 2015, the average growth between June and July has been 16.0%, so it’s to be expected.
Every reported local government area was up on last month but the best results were in the regions with some markets up by over 30%.
July benefited from five Saturdays and Sundays, but only four Friday trading days.
Australians’ average tax return of around $3,000 also started to hit and a warmer, dry winter hasn’t hurt trade.
The trend of clubs clawing back some share from hotels took a turn in July with a drop in club market share from 43.3% in June to 42.6% in July.
Happy trading
