The Qld Labor Government pioneered the way for online interactive gaming in Australia.

In March 1998, it passed Australia’s very first comprehensive legislation enabling full service online gaming via the Interactive Gaming Act (Player Protection Act) (Qld).

The then Qld Treasurer, Dr David Hamill sponsored the legislation which remains in force today.
